Week 8: Progress

During this week I began applying the textures to the building. A common issue that kept occurring throughout the application was the texture tiles were too small, this was fixed by changing the x and y parameters of the tile to look better on the building. Another issue was the parts of the building were joined together during the import in order to fix this Theodore had to separate the pieces of the building and then reimport it to the unity game engine.

Below are some screenshots that i have taken of  with the textures applied to the building, there are still a few things that need to be fixed and tweaked in terms of the application, this should be done before the final submission.

The way the texture looked once the original tile size was applied.

I was very please with the choice I made for the brick on the walls, I believe it has a very similar resemblance to the brick on the actual building.

The texture that was added to the roof can been seen fairly clearly here suits really well the brick on the walls.

I went with a rustic metal for the window shutters and the gutters around the building as it a fairly old church which has been around for many years.

The rafters and beams of the building are made out of wood and used to hold the roof up over time wood changes colour and begins to deteriorate based depending on the weather so this texture worked out really well for the church shows signs of the churches old age.
